Recent graduate Julia Stern '22 earned a 2022 National Merit $2,500 Scholarship as part of the National Merit Scholarship Program. Julia was one of just 2,500 recipients across the nation from a pool of more than 15,000 National Merit Finalists, one of just 60 recipients in Pennsylvania. A committee of college admission officers and high school counselors selected the finalists in each state who had the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies as recipients.
Congratulations, Julia!

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. High school students enter the National Merit Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®)—which serves as an initial screen of approximately 1.6 million entrants each year—and by meeting published program entry and participation requirements.
